Basic Page Header Options
This basic page shows the option to include a header image.
Not all pages need header images. When deciding how you want to approach header images, it is. good idea to be consistent in your approach. Users may not like clicking through a website that is inconsistent with using header images since it can seem like they are jumping around.
Tips for header images
- Use a high quality image. Make sure the image does look blurry or pixilated.
- Follow guidelines for sizing and aspect ratio. Any image uploaded will be cropped to the "skinny" horizontal image as seen above.
- Have variety across the site. Users may lose their sense of place if the same image is used on every page. To add variety you could:
- have every header image be different across the site. If that's too daunting ...
- use the same header image for related pages. For example, all "Academics" pages could use one image, and all "About" pages could use another.
